Fox & Friends mistakenly books Mass. Democrat Barbara L'Italien

ANDOVER, Mass. — Fox & Friends mistakenly booked a Massachusetts Senator for their morning show segment Monday.

Senator Barbara L’Italien (D-Andover) appeared on the show, but the producers apparently thought they were going to get former Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick (D - AZ).

The show’s hosts prepped for an interview with someone they described as pro-ICE Democrat, but were confused to hear Sen. L’Italien rail against the Trump administration’s family separation policy.

“I’m here on this show to speak directly to Donald Trump. What you’re doing at the border is wrong. As a mother of four, I’m appalled that we are separating kids from their parents. It’s illegal and inhumane,”

L’Italien said before she was cut off by the network. “Stop abducting children and ripping them from their parents’ arms. Stop putting kids in cages, stop making three-year-olds defend themselves in court. Stop hurting Latino children to score political points with your base.”

The hosts expected to talk to Kirkpatrick about being booed for supporting ICE at a campaign event, but instead got L'Italien who had to clarify that she is a Massachusetts Senator running for Congress.

L’Italien represents Lawrence, Massachusetts which has a large immigrant population.

“They may be able to cut me off, but they can’t silence this mom on a mission,” said L’Italien afterward.

Sen. L’Italien co-sponsored the Safe Communities Act and the Trust Act to help local immigrants and law enforcement work together. She has also previously called for ICE to be abolished.
