Plymouth DA, Brockton PD say 5 shot, 1 stabbed at house party

BROCKTON, Mass. — Brockton Police said early Sunday that five men were shot Saturday night at a house party in Brockton. The Plymouth District Attorney’s Office later added that a woman was also stabbed that night at the party.

Around 9:50 p.m. Saturday, a female walked into the Brockton fire station on Main Street asking for help after suffering stab wounds, according to a release by officials. She was treated and left the station, refusing further help.

Brockton Police responded to the area and attempted to help, according to the release. She later called police asking for help and was brought to Good Samaritan Hospital.

Then shortly after 10:30 p.m., Brockton Police responded to 124 Laureston Street after receiving a gunfire alert from ShotSpotter, the city’s electronic gunshot detection system. Several people also reported hearing gunshots, according to the release.

ShotSpotter detected that six rounds were fired in the area. Brockton Police found five shell casings at the scene, according to the release.

Two men made it to a hospital on their own accord with non life-threatening injuries, while the three other men were transported by ambulance to local hospitals.

A preliminary investigation found that the address was rented and a large party happened outside of the home, the release said.

Brockton Police and the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office are investigating the incident.
