FITCHBURG, Mass. — One person was killed after two shootings happened in Fitchburg just a mile apart from each other Thursday night.
Officers first responded to one of the shootings in the area of lower Blossom Street around 9:00 p.m.

One person, a 23-year-old man, was killed as a result of the shooting. His identity has not yet been released to the public.

About 25 minutes later, police received reports of another shooting about a mile away on Goddard Street.
On Goddard Street, another person suffered a minor injury.
Police said Thursday night it was unknown if these incidents are related. Both shootings are being investigated.
No arrests have been made at this point.
