Easton firefighter delivers baby on his birthday

EASTON, Mass. — Easton firefighters delivered a newborn baby girl Wednesday morning.

Just before 8:45 a.m. Wednesday, Easton firefighters were called to Victory Lane for a report of a woman in labor.

Firefighters Tim Sweeney and Tom Baker - who is celebrating his own birthday - helped the woman into the ambulance.

She then entered the final stages of labor and Sweeney and Baker, along with Lt. Bill Fralick and firefighter Fred Chute, delivered a baby girl.

Mom and baby were taken to Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton and are doing well.

"I'm proud of these firefighters for their quick response and assistance in helping this woman deliver a healthy baby girl. We are glad to hear that both mom and baby are doing well!" said Chief Kevin Partridge.
