Dead cat found in trashbag near Charles River in Watertown

WATERTOWN, Mass. — A cat was found dead near the shore of the Charles River in Watertown on January 30, according to a post by Watertown Animal Control on their official Facebook page. That cat was discovered inside a trash bag that was weighed down by a large rock roughly eight feet from shore.

A town resident discovered the site when he or she was walking along the California Street side of the river near the Watertown Dam. Officials described the cat as tortoiseshell in color with a tan strip from its forehead to its nose. It was emaciated when discovered, the original post said.
