Cannabis Control Commission amends quarantine for vape devices and products

The Cannabis Control Commission has amended a quarantine order for vape devices and products manufactured by Marijuana Establishments and Medical Marijuana Treatment Centers in Massachusetts.

As of 2 p.m. on Thursday, the order allows the sale of:

  • Devices used to vaporize flower for adults and medical marijuana
  • Devices designed to vaporize concentrate that do not contain usable marijuana
  • Regulated vaporizer products that are manufactured

They all have to pass screens for vitamin E acetate and other contaminants required under the Commission’s testing protocols, as the Center for Disease Control and Prevention found vitamin E acetate as a chemical linked to lung injuries in people who use e-cigarettes, vaping or vaping products.

The Commission’s initial quarantine is still in place for all other marijuana vape products that were manufactured before Thursday. This changes the Nov. 12 quarantine order that the CCC issued following a Superior Court ruling about the Commonwealth’s declaration that said vaping is a public health emergency.
