CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — Cambridge Police arrested two men Tuesday morning who are accused of stealing bicycles from the same apartment complex twice in three days, spokesman Jeremy Warnick told Boston 25 News.
Warnick said a resident at an apartment complex on Cambridge Park Drive saw the two suspects in the building's bike storage room around 6 a.m. and called police.
Officers were able to quickly locate, stop and take both men into custody after they tried to run away. The pair was initially seen on bikes, which officers recovered.
Alexios Tambasidis, 28, and Christopher Rank, 32, both of Boston, are charged with Larceny from a Building and Larceny over $1,200.
Warnick said the same two men were captured on surveillance video around 2:15 p.m. Saturday stealing two bikes from the same storage room. Those bikes were valued at $4,600 and $1,600.
A pair of bolt cutters was found at the time and taken as evidence.
Warnick said the men are not the same suspected bike thieves stopped by Transit Police and Cambridge Police Sunday night in the area of Alewife.
