Bystanders rescue man who fell through rotting pier in Lynn

LYNN, Mass. — Bystanders helped rescue an elderly man who fell through an old, rotting pier on Wednesday afternoon, according to the Lynn Fire Department.

The accident happened around 3:20 p.m. in an area behind 810 Lynnway.

Sky25 video captured the rotting pier where the man fell.

He was rushed by ambulance to Massachusetts General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, fire officials said.

The pier is on private property and not maintained, fire officials said.
