British Royal Airforce perform flyover of downtown Boston on Monday

BOSTON — If you were in the city on Monday morning, you may have noticed something was going on in the sky.

That was the British Royal Air Force Red Arrows performing an aerial flyover of the Boston waterfront and over the Boston Harbor as part of their biggest-ever tour of North America.

The Red Arrows departed for Canada and the United States on Aug. 5 and are set to visit over 25 North American cities during their 11-week deployment.

During their visit to Boston, the Red Arrows will also participate in events promoting science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education.

As part of the flyover on Monday, the British Consulate-General in Boston is hosting a social media contest with prizes for whoever snaps the best picture of the flyover with the hashtag #RedArrowsTour.

The Red Arrows themselves will choose the winner, so submit your best snap of the flyover and don't forget to use the hashtag!
