Boston storefront near TD Garden zoned for cannabis retail

BOSTON — The City of Boston could have its first recreational pot shop by the end of the year.

The city's zoning board just approved the site on Friend Street near the TD Garden and North Station.

A company called Ascend Cannabis plans to break ground there next month.

The company still needs to receive the necessary approval from the state's Cannabis Control Commission.
