Body found in Tyngsborough identified as man who went missing on July 4

TYNGSBOROUGH, Mass. — The body of a missing Tyngsborough man was located Sunday in a wooded area in the town, according to an official press release.

The victim was identified as John Porter, 65, of Tyngsborough, who was reported missing to authorities on the afternoon of July 4. Officials notified Mass. State Police that Porter's body had been found at 12:15 p.m. on Sunday afternoon - three full days after his reported disappearance.

Porter's body was found in a wooded area just off of Buckhill Road in the town, a short distance from the New Hampshire border.

Foul play is not suspected, according to the release. The case is still under investigation by Tyngsborough PD, the Middlesex District Attorney's Office and State Police.
