Boaters rescue dog stranded in water off Martha's Vineyard

MARTHA'S VINEYARD, Mass. — Ferry riders celebrated a 'lovely day' when a family out on their boat rescued a dog from the water off Martha's Vineyard Monday.

Passengers on the Island Queen ferry from Falmouth to Oak Bluffs saw a dog in the open water and the ferry circled around it in an effort to protect it. However, passengers on  the ferry were unable to pull the dog from the water.

So passengers yelled to get the attention of a passing boat called the "Lovely Day," whose crew pulled up alongside the dog and scooped him from the water.
