LAWRENCE, Mass. - A homicide investigation is underway in Lawrence after a man was found dead on Wednesday morning.

Lawrence Police responded to the area of 75 Manchester Street at around 5:50 a.m. after a jogger discovered a man's body. Officials found the body of a 48-year-old man who has not been identified yet. A gun, found next to the body, was recovered at the scene.

The body was found in a vacant lot adjacent to Manchester Street Park, but the investigation led police several streets over as blood was scattered throughout the residential neighborhood.

Last Boston 25 News was told, police were looking for a vehicle registered out of Salem, New Hampshire. We have reached out to the Essex County District Attorney's Office for the latest on the search for a suspect, but they told us there is no update.

No further details have been released.
