ACTON, Mass. - A 20-year-old from Acton was arrested after allegedly assaulting two people and cutting one of them with a shard of glass from a broken beer bottle on Friday night.

Acton Police said that Harold Jonathan Hunter is being charged with two counts of assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon.

Around 10:45 p.m. last night, police went to the area of 5300 Avalon Drive after a report of an altercation. They found a man and woman inside an apartment, both suffering from non-life threatening injuries.

Police said they saw signs of an altercation, including broken wine bottles, tossed furniture and blood.

Hunter fled the scene before officers arrived, but police determined that he started the fight. He allegedly threw a beer bottle at the woman, causing it to break. He then got into a physical fight with the male victim, grabbed a shard of glass, and cut the man.

Both the woman and man were taken to Emerson Hospital and later left.

Police arrested Hunter around 2:40 a.m. at his house.

He's being held on $500 bail and is expected to be arraigned at Concord District Court on Nov. 12.
