WILMINGTON, Mass. — I-93 in Wilmington has been reopened after it was closed on both sides due to a serious crash.

According to State Police, at around 5:30 a.m., a pickup truck hit the guardrail on the right side of I-93 southbound.
Officials had to close down the highway in the area of exit 41 to allow a Medflight helicopter to land.
Both occupants of the vehicle sustained serious injuries, but are conscious.
The 50-year-old driver was transported to Lahey Hospital, while the 38-year-old passenger was flown to Tufts Medical Center in Boston.

While the scene has been cleared and the helicopter has left the scene, heavy delays persist. Seek alternate routes through Route 28 or I-495 to 3.
