7-year-old hit by car backing out of parking spot in Cambridge

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — A 7-year-old child was taken to the hospital on Tuesday morning after being hit by a car in Cambridge.

The incident happened in the area of the Montessori School parking lot on Garden Street.

Authorities say the child was struck by the car as it was backing out of a parking space and sustained minor injuries,

The child was taken to the hospital with a parent to Children's Hospital.

It is unclear if the driver was charged or cited.

Police continue to investigate.
