69-year-old woman dies after being pulled from water in Hull

HULL, Mass. — A 69-year-old woman was pulled from the water in Hull on Sunday afternoon, officials confirmed to Boston 25 News.

The woman, identified as Amy White, of Hull, was pronounced dead on Monday morning.

White had been in critical condition at South Shore Medical Center. An off-duty Hull firefighter was nearby during the incident, eventually pulling her out of the water and performing CPR on her after she was in there for an unknown amount of time.

"We have these stories pop up all the time," said Hull Fire Chief Christopher Russo. "Guys off duty who live and reside in town, who are willing to stop on the side of the road or sitting on the beach with their family and will get right up to work."

Emergency services observed bystanders administering CPR to White upon arrival. The incident occurred on the corner of Coburn Street and Beach Avenue in the town just before 3 p.m.

Police don't suspect any violence was involved.
