5 people rescued from boat fire on Boston Harbor

BOSTON — Five people were rescued from a boat fire in the Boston Harbor on Friday night.

The Boston Fire Marine Unit was patrolling the harbor at around 7:10 p.m. when they saw smoke in the distance in the direction of Hull.

Firefighters found a 32-foot power boat engulfed in flames.

They said the 30 people who had been on the boat had been evacuated by the time they responded.

The U.S. Coast Guard, Massport and the Boston Police Marine Unit assisted in responding to this fire.

No injuries were reported.
