22-year-old Brockton man dead after shooting

A 22-year-old man died after being shot in Brockton on Saturday night, according to the Plymouth District Attorney's office.

BROCKTON, Mass. — A 22-year-old man died after being shot in Brockton on Saturday night, according to the Plymouth District Attorney’s office.

Ailson Barbosa, 22, of Brockton was found by police in a stairwell at 117 Belmont Ave. suffering from apparent gunshot wounds shortly before 9 p.m. Barbosa was brought to Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockon where he died.

This was Brockton’s first murder of the new year. Unfortunately the city has developed a national reputation for crime. A recent database of the 100 most dangerous cities in America puts Brockton at number 88.
