Grading the careers of 'Lost' stars, from Evangeline Lilly to Matthew Fox

We're never getting over "Lost."

ABC's 2004-2010 supernatural hit was a cultural event that broadcast TV hasn't (yet) been able to replicate (though networks have tried and tried and tried again). Fans got so attached to the characters that they followed some of the actors to new projects, just for the sake of "Lost" nostalgia.

For Evangeline Lilly, who played Kate, it's probably not too hard to get fans to try her latest. The actress is the stunning standout in Marvel's "Ant-Man and the Wasp," the first female hero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to headline a film.

In honor of the film, it's a good time to check in on the health of the "Lost" crew's post-show careers. Not all can fly to quite the same heights as Wasp, but many have given it their all. We've given some of the major cast members grades based on their post-"Lost" projects, including how many, how successful and how acclaimed they are.

Evangeline Lilly

"Lost" character: Kate
Currently/last seen in: "Ant-Man and the Wasp" (in theaters now)
Grade: A

Despite taking a break from Hollywood, Lilly has made a seamless transition from TV regular to franchise anchor. Critics love her performance in "Wasp," and she managed to be a brief highlight in the mediocre "Hobbit" franchise.

Josh Holloway

"Lost" character: Sawyer
Currently/last seen in: "Colony" (USA Network)
Grade: B+

Holloway has used his roguish charm and "Lost" sci-fi credentials in a handful of film and TV roles since the ABC drama signed off, but none better than his current gig on USA's "Colony" (Tuesdays, 9 EDT/PDT through July 25).  He plays a former government agent trying to make it through an alien occupation. He has also popped up in action films like "Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol" and short-lived CBS drama "Intelligence," and had a perfectly on-brand cameo in a 2011 episode of NBC's cult comedy "Community."

Daniel Dae Kim

"Lost" character: Jin-Soo
Currently/last seen in: "Hawaii Five-0" (CBS)
Grade: A-

Kim has had one of the most diverse post-"Lost" careers, putting in years on "Hawaii," along with another "Lost" alum (Jorge Garcia), dabbling in guest roles on other shows and most recently helping shepherd last fall's hit "The Good Doctor" to ABC as a producer. He also will take on a high-profile role in the upcoming "Hellboy" reboot.

Jorge Garcia

"Lost" character: Hurley
Currently/last seen in: "Hawaii Five-0" (CBS)
Grade: B+

Tropical crime fighting has been kind to the "Lost" actors. Garcia has settled into his role as Jerry Ortega on the CBS series (he joined the cast in 2013) and is the reliable comic relief. He has also lent his talents in several cameos that rely on his "Lost" persona, from "How I Met Your Mother" to "BoJack Horseman."

Naveen Andrews

"Lost" character: Sayid
Currently/last seen in: "Sense8" (Netflix), "Instinct" (CBS)
Grade: B

Andrews moved from one cult sci-fi classic to another by joining Netflix's "Sense8," a twisty epic from the Wachowski siblings that has one of the most devoted fanbases around. "Sense8" just wrapped this summer with a finale film, but Andrews is also on  "Instinct," the new CBS crime procedural alongside Alan Cumming.

Michael Emerson

"Lost" character: Ben
Currently/last seen in: "Person of Interest" (CBS); "Arrow" (CW)
Grade: B

Emerson is among the "Lost" alums who found a second iconic character to add to his resume: enigmatic genius billionaire Harold Finch on "Person of Interest" (2011-16), appearing in more episodes there than he did on "Lost." He also has stopped by CW superhero series "Arrow" and will co-star in SundanceTV's "The Name of the Rose" in 2019.

Terry O'Quinn

"Lost" character: John Locke
Currently/last seen in: "Castle Rock" (Hulu, July 25)
Grade: B

O'Quinn has had nearly as much stamina in his post-"Lost" career as John Locke had onscreen. Since the series signed off, O'Quinn has appeared in shows including "666 Park Avenue," "Secrets and Lies," "Patriot," "The Blacklist: Redemption" and "Hawaii Five-0" (of course). He will appear later this month in Hulu's high-profile Stephen King adaptation "Castle Rock."

Henry Ian Cusick

"Lost" character: Desmond
Currently/last seen in: "The 100" (CW)
Grade:
 B-

Like Emerson and Holloway, Cusick's career owes a lot to sci-fi. His longest and highest-profile gig since "Lost" has been on CW's "The 100," which is essentially "Lost" meets "Battlestar Galactica" for the YA crowd.

Yunjin Kim

"Lost" character: Sun
Currently/last seen in: "Mistresses" (ABC)
Grade: C+

Since "Lost," Kim has had a few film roles, but her biggest project was ABC's 2013-2016 summer drama "Mistresses," alongside Alyssa Milano.

1

Dominic Monaghan

"Lost" character: Charlie
Currently/last seen in: "100 Code" (WGN)
Grade: C-

Since leaving "Lost," Monaghan hasn't been able to find that one show or film to anchor himself the way many of his co-stars have. He appeared in ABC's short-lived "Lost" knockoff "Flash Forward" and has had a handful of TV and film roles.

Matthew Fox

"Lost" character: Jack
Currently/last seen in: "Bone Tomahawk"
Grade: D

Since "Lost" Fox has done little to no film and TV work, popping up in 2013's "World War Z" and 2015's "Bone Tomahawk" (briefly).  The former "Party of Five" star last showed up in the news listing his $4 million custom Oregon house for sale..
