Eager to get the day started off on the right foot, Michael Henrich has reported weekdays for Boston 25 Morning News since early 2015, when historic snowfall totals welcomed him back to New England.
Michael has received several awards and four Emmy nominations in his career, including a win in the Continuing Coverage category at the 41st Annual Boston/New England Emmy Awards and a Best Reporter nomination a year earlier.
Prior to his arrival at Boston 25, Michael served as a reporter and fill-in anchor at WXIN-FOX59 and WTTV-CBS4 in Indianapolis. A New York native with family living throughout Massachusetts and New Hampshire, Michael has also worked as an anchor, reporter, web producer and desk assistant in Oklahoma (KOKH-FOX25), Ohio (WNWO-NBC24), Vermont (WFFF-FOX44/WVNY-ABC22), New York (News 12 Interactive) and Washington, D.C. (ABC News).
Giving back is a major priority in Michael's life. He has volunteered at the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation’s One Walk on Boston’s Esplanade, participated in the Spartan Run at Fenway Park to raise awareness and funds for the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, teamed up with The Salvation Army of Massachusetts for its Red Kettle Run and aided the FOX25 Cares effort to gather Coats for Kids.
While studying abroad in Berlin, Germany, he met his now-wife, Renee. His family jokes that he had to travel halfway across the world just to meet a girl from Wisconsin; Michael and their two wonderful sons are very glad he did. They live happily in Wayland, where Michael enjoys coaching his sons’ youth sports teams.
