World Series MVP Steve Pearce signs deal to return to Red Sox

One day after Mookie Betts took home American League MVP honors, it looks like another MVP will be coming home to Boston in 2019.

The Red Sox announced that first baseman Steve Pearce signed a one-year contract to return to the team next season, just under a month after he was named World Series MVP for his performance against the Dodgers.

In his time with the Red Sox after getting traded to the team from the Blue Jays, Pearce compiled a .279 batting average with 26 RBI and seven home runs.
