PawSox to troll Alex Rodriguez, Jennifer Lopez with 'engagement celebration'

Alex Rodriguez has quite the history when it comes to New England and the Red Sox, and the Pawtucket Red Sox are looking to show their appreciate for the baseball legend with an "engagement celebration."

In honor of Rodriguez's engagement to Jennifer Lopez and the 15th anniversary of the Red Sox's historic 2004 World Series win, the PawSox are giving free admission to some fans for their April 12 game against Syracuse. But, there's a catch.

In honor of the Red Sox's July 24, 2004 game against the Yankees where Rodriguez was notoriously hit by Bronson Arroyo, and subsequently smacked in the face by Jason Varitek, fans wearing either an Arroyo or Varitek jersey will be allowed to take in the PawSox action for free.

The PawSox also told parents they're encouraged "to tell the tales of that memorable day to their children 12 and under-all of whom will also be admitted free."

That's not all, as fans named Jennifer will also be allowed in for free, with valid Rhode Island identification needed to prove you're a real "Jenny from the block."

Fans will also be able to touch and take pictures of the actual pitching rubber Arroyo used during the second of the PawSox's two perfect games in team history. For an added bonus, anyone wearing the jersey of the pitcher who threw the first of those perfect games is also allowed in for free.

To round it all out, Ben Affleck was "cordially invited to throw out the game's Ceremonial First Pitch-for obvious reasons," and Tim Tebow, who is expected to be with the Syracuse Mets at the time, "will walk up to Mariah Carey's greatest hits for the duration of his series at McCoy Stadium as a salute to one of J.Lo's greatest rivals."
