Patriots name Vince Wilfork as honorary captain for AFC Championship game

When you're in a big game, it's time to pull out all of the stops. For the Patriots, it's only fitting to bring in someone who came in clutch with big stops in huge games over the years.

The team named former defensive lineman Vince Wilfork as their honorary captain for their AFC Championship game against the Chiefs in Kansas City Sunday, with a Super Bowl spot on the line.

Wilfork played 13 seasons in the NFL, with his first 11 with the Patriots before playing two years with the Texans.

He won two Super Bowls with the team, playing with them until 2014.

Now, the Patriots are hoping Big Vince can bring some good fortune to them as they look to advance to their third straight Super Bowl.
