FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — Just two members of the New England Patriots were named to the 2019 NFL Pro Bowl roster, tying the fewest amount in a decade. Quarterback Tom Brady and cornerback Stephon Gilmore were selected to represent the Patriots on Jan. 27 in Orlando, barring a Super Bowl appearance for New England.

Brady earned his 14th-career and 10th consecutive Pro Bowl nod, joining Tony Gonzalez, Peyton Manning, Bruce Matthews, and Merlin Olsen among the list of players with at least 14 selections. Brady, who led the Patriots (9-5) to a winning season for the 18th straight year (the most since the 1970 merger).

Gilmore's selection is his first as a member of the Patriots and the second of his career. He represented the Buffalo Bills in 2016. Gilmore ranks second in the NFL in passes defended (18) and has recorded 41 tackles while starting each of the Patriots' games at cornerback. He has also registered two interceptions and picked up his first career sack Nov. 12 against Tennessee.

The last time the Patriots sent just a pair of players to the Pro Bowl was in 2008 (Stephen Gostkowski and Wes Welker).
