Worcester Police investigating drive-by shooting

WORCESTER, Mass. — Worcester Police are investigating a shooting that left a 22-year-old injured.

Police were called to Providence Street around 10:45 p.m. Saturday for a reported shooting.

Officers found a 22-year-old with a gunshot wound to the neck. Officers helped slow the bleeding until EMS arrived and took him to the hospital.

Witnesses told police that a vehicle drove by, opened the window and someone fired one round from a handgun.

The victim had been sitting on the second-floor porch. He is in stable condition and is expected to recover.
