Webster police officers praised for helping stranded driver during winter storm

WEBSTER, Mass. — A woman is singing the praises of three Webster police officers who helped get her to safety when her truck broke down during the nasty winter storm.

Michelle Carrier broke down Saturday night on Main Street, near the police station. She said the police officers came and pushed her off the road and then stayed with her until she was safe.

Carrier praised the officers in a post on a community Facebook page.

“Just wanted to say thank you so much for helping my mother until I could get to her,” Jenna McGrath commented on the post.

Webster Police Chief Mike Shaw confirmed the officers involved were Kaitlyn DiBuono, Spencer Donovan and Robert Ela.

“I am proud of the officers, however not surprised,” Chief Shaw told Boston 25 News. “Our officers perform these types of acts every day, as do police officers across the state with no recognition.”

Shaw said he’s glad the thankful citizen recognized the good deed.

“I am proud and thankful to have these, and all the members of the Webster Police Department, under my command,” Shaw said.

Ela joined the department in 2010, Donovan in 2015 and DiBuono in 2018.
