Wayne Chapman trial delayed six months

WOBURN, Mass. — The trial for a convicted child rapist has been pushed back six months.

The Middlesex County District Attorney's Office says Wayne Chapman's trial, which was originally set to start Tuesday, will be delayed until June because of scheduling issues.

Last spring, Chapman became eligible to be released from prison after spending more than 40 years behind bars.

Two qualified examiners said he was unlikely to re-offend.
 
However, his release was postponed after claims he exposed himself to nurses at the prison.
