Wareham Police searching for three men in connection to slashing

WAREHAM, Mass. — Police in Wareham are searching for three men they say beat up another man and slashed him across the face.

Officers responded to a call at Tobey Hospital on Thursday at around noon for a stabbing victim seeking treatment in the emergency room.

At the hospital, officers found a man who had been slashed across the face and had been brutally kicked.

Wareham Police detectives took over the investigation and found out the attack happened at around 11:30 a.m. in the Oakdale area, near Frank's Way.

Detectives say the attack was not random and they've obtained arrest warrants for Christian Fernandes, 30, of Wareham, Thomas Tavares, 28, of Wareham and Andrew Booker, 29, of East Wareham.

All three suspects are facing charges for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, with the exception of Fernandes, who is facing charges for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and mayhem.

According to authorities, the victim is expected to survive.
