One injured in shooting at apartment complex in Acton

ACTON, Mass. — One person was shot and injured after a "physical altercation" at an apartment complex in Acton Wednesday, Middlesex District Attorney's Office and Acton Police,

Officers responded to a call at an apartment complex on Strawberry Hill Road just before 9 p.m. and found a man with multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening, according to a news release from Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Acton Chief of Police Richard Burrows.

A "physical altercation" between parties preceded the shooting and it is not considered to be a random incident, the statement said. One person fled the scene and Massachusetts State Police assisted Acton Police with the search for that suspect shortly after the incident.  That person has not been located.

Police initially said two suspects were being sought on Wednesday, but Burrows confirmed that they are only one suspect is currently being sought.

This is a developing story, and will be updated as more information is released.
