Police: Man who led officers on chase had fentanyl, Xanax, cocaine

BOSTON — A Connecticut man is facing a slew of charges after police say he led them on a chase before he was caught with drugs.

State police say Hansel Gonzalez was found in possession of fentanyl, Xanax and crack cocaine.

Members of the state police gang unit tried to pull him over on Route 9 in Boston Monday night, but they say he took off, leading them on a chase.

Police say the pursuit ended when Gonzalez drove into the Beth Israel Deaconess parking lot.

Troopers say he put up a violent struggle before he was taken into custody.

He's now facing charges including assault and battery on a police officer.
