Police searching for suspect after 1 shot, another assaulted in Revere

REVERE, Mass. — Police are investigating a shooting in Revere that left at least two people injured late Tuesday.

Revere Police Chief James Guido said officers responded to a house on Oxford Street around 10 p.m. for “some sort of a disturbance between family members” and "other parties who arrived" who the family knew.

One person was shot in the leg and another was assaulted with a weapon, Guido said.

The Suffolk County District Attorney's Office said in a statement that the shooting victim is a 32-year-old man. He transported to Massachusetts General Hospital and is expected to survive. A 52-year-old man was "injured in a physical confrontation," the DA's office said and he too is expected to survive.

The names of the two victims have not been released.

The shooting victim ran down the street to flag down a ride to the hospital, Guido said. Two crime scenes were set up: one on Oxford Street and another on Park Avenue.

A neighbor told Boston 25 News that he first thought the gunshots were fireworks.

Police have not announced any arrests and are searching for the shooting suspect. They remained at the scene processing evidence overnight and were still on scene into the morning.

The DA's office is asking anyone with information on the incident to contact the Revere Police Criminal Investigation Division at 781-286-8340 or the Suffolk County State Police Detective Unit at 617-727-8817.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
