Man fatally shot in Brockton, police actively searching for shooting suspect

BROCKTON, Mass. — Police are actively searching for the person who shot and killed a man in Brockton on Monday evening.

The shooting happened on Keith Avenue just before 7 p.m. The victim, a 27-year-old man, was rushed to Good Samaritan Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. The Plymouth County District Attorney's office said Tuesday that the victim had died.

People in the neighborhood told Boston 25 News that they heard three gunshots.

The shooting occurred near a CVS Pharmacy. Customers and employees were stunned to learn of the shooting and see emergency responders at the scene.

"I came here, saw all the police, and they said someone was shot," said customer Dave Pierce, who was picking up his medication when he saw an ambulance pulling away from the scene.

The shooting occurred in front of Lindsey Bush's doorstep.

"I was coming to drive home and saw that it was all blocked off," she said.

Investigators canvassed the area, looking for surveillance video. Police cordoned off the area with yellow police tape.

"I see it on the news all the time, but I never thought that it would be this close to home," Bush said.

Bush said the shooting has left her and her family concerned about safety.

"My kids come walk to the store, no more of that," she said.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call Brockton Police.
