Pedestrian seriously injured after being hit by vehicle in Fitchburg

A St. Louis police officer is accused of driving a van too roughly to punish two prisoners, court documents claim.

FITCHBURG, Mass. — A pedestrian was seriously injured in Wednesday evening after being hit by a vehicle, the Fitchburg Fire Department says.

According to officials, a call came in at around 5:30 p.m. for a person struck in the area of 439 John Fitch Highway.

The victim was transported to Leominster Hospital and is waiting for a Med Flight that will take them to UMass Worcester.

Officials say the victim's injuries are serious but could not comment on whether they are life-threatening or not.
