MALDEN, Mass. — Over 5,000 Malden residents are currently without power, police tweeted on Tuesday night.
According to the tweet, the large power outage happened in the Maplewood area and possibly beyond.

Currently affected are Cherry, Kimball, Lebanon, Milton, Myrtle, Rocky-Nook, Salem and Sylvan streets, Durso and Island-Hill avenues.
Police are working closely with National Grid to figure out what exactly caused the outage and how widespread it is.
Residents are asked to call 800-465-1212 to report any outages.
