One hospitalized after fire breaks out in Brookline

BROOKLINE, Mass. — An elderly man was transported to an area hospital after a fire broke out at his Brookline apartment building, according to the town's fire department.

Firefighters responded to the blaze at 4:20 on Friday afternoon. Upon arrival, officials conducted an aggressive search. All residents were evacuated from the building, which had heavy smoke conditions on the first floor.
