Man dies after being pulled from water at Swansea Town Beach

A St. Louis police officer is accused of driving a van too roughly to punish two prisoners, court documents claim.

SWANSEA, Mass. — A man died in Swansea on Sunday evening after being pulled from the water at the Swansea Town Beach, according to local police.

Upon arrival, officials witnessed bystanders performing CPR on the man, who was pulled from the water by his friend and three other people. The 911 call to police originally came at 6:16 p.m. on Sunday.

Emergency responders transported the man to a local hospital after administering additional CPR. The victim was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival at the hospital.

Officials have not released his identity as they are notifying the victim’s next of kin.

Swansea Police are investigating the drowning along with the Mass. State Police Detectives Unit.
