SALEM, Mass. — A Lynn woman has been arrested and charged with the murder of a man on a busy street in Lynn Monday, the Essex County District Attorney's office announced.
Beatrice Ortiz, 34, was arrested at her Lynn home Monday night and charged with murder, the DA's office said.
Lynn Police responded to reports of a stabbing in the area of 114 Union Street earlier Monday afternoon and found a man suffering from stab wounds.
The 36-year-old victim, identified as Charles Stankiewicz, was rushed to Salem Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

According to the DA's office, Stankiewicz is believed to be homeless.
Ortiz pleaded not guilty at an arraignment Tuesday. She was held without bail until the next hearing in September.
