This year, Lyft has teamed up with the Massachusetts Chiefs of Police Association and New England Treatment Access to encourage riders in Massachusetts who plan to take part in the celebrations not get behind the wheel while high.

Lyft is offering $4.20 off one ride on Saturday, 4/20 with the code 420BOS19 to encourage riders to explore their cities responsibly.

“This 4/20, we’re encouraging those taking part to plan ahead with a Lyft ride as we continue to work towards safer streets and communities,” said Tyler George, Regional Director of Lyft New England. “We’re thrilled to be collaborating with the Massachusetts Chiefs of Police Association and New England Treatment Access as we work toward a similar goal and commitment, as well as provide Boston residents with a responsible and reliable ride option. We’re also incredibly thankful to our drivers who help people celebrating in Boston get to where they need to go.”

This is the first year recreational pot shops will be open in Massachusetts during the annual celebration. Massachusetts voters legalized recreational marijuana sales in 2016, but the first stores didn’t open until this past November.
