Hopedale police sergeant's kind act captures hearts of many in small town

HOPEDALE, Mass. — ‎A photo of a Hopedale police sergeant is capturing the hearts of the small town.

Crews were paving a road near a bus stop Wednesday morning.

Sergeant Ricardo Lima saw a boy who was about to get on the bus and didn’t want him to burn his feet on the scalding hot pavement, so he carried him.

The boy’s mom, Johanna Fitzgerald, snapped a photo of the precious moment.

She shared the photo on Facebook, which led to a flurry of comments from residents who stated how much they love their tight-knit community.
