Five people hospitalized after boat capsizes on Merrimack River

SALISBURY, Mass. — Five people were taken to the hospital after a boat capsized along the Merrimack River.

The Salisbury Harbormaster told Boston 25 News all five occupants of the boat were sent into the water when the boat overturned.

One of the passengers got caught on the boat after it capsized, but managed to quickly free themselves.

The U.S. Coast Guard responded to the incident, rescuing the passengers from the water.

All five people were taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

No further details were released.
