Elderly woman hit by car in Worcester left in critical condition

WORCESTER, Mass — An elderly woman is in serious condition after she was hit by a car in Worcester Saturday evening.

The woman was hit along Main Street in town shortly before 9 p.m., according to police.

In a release Monday morning, police said the car was traveling north when the woman crossed the road in a crosswalk.

Police said she suffered injuries to her head and leg and remains in the hospital in critical condition.

Police say the driver of the car stayed on the scene and the incident is under investigation.
