PICK OF THE WEEK

Today is the pick of the week, even with early clouds and a lonely sprinkle at sunrise. Clouds will clear out rapidly today, leading to a bright and breezy afternoon. Plan on highs near 80 degrees in both Boston and Worcester. The Merrimack Valley and Metro West will be the “hot spots”. It will be cooler where the southwest wind will be off the water. Areas around Buzzards Bay, Cape Cod, Nantucket, Martha’s Vineyard, and Cape Ann will only reach highs in the 60s.

More clouds will move in tonight and tomorrow. Although a spot shower is possible at times, most of the day is shaping up dry and mild.

BLAME IT ON THE RAIN

Low pressure will pass closest to southern New England on Thursday with the best chance for a period of rain. Some showers may linger into Friday. We’ll have to keep an eye on rain chances for several days with that nearby disturbance and plume of moisture. For the most part, it looks like any big impacts will miss us to the south. There is quite a bit of wiggle room when it comes to the exact timing of showers this week, including the weekend. So, stay with us as the situation evolves.

Onshore wind will keep it cooler Thursday through the weekend with highs in the 60s and some coastline 50s. Mostly cloudy skies will tend to rule.
